Global Commercial Insights Dashboard for Life Sciences

The Challenge
A global life sciences organization wanted to enhance how it viewed commercial performance across cross regional markets. Sales, new patient starts, units sold, and forecast data were available, but spread across multiple systems and formats, making it harder to quickly form a consistent, portfolio level view.
Key Challenges Included:
- Dispersed Commercial and Financial Data
Key sales and patient related metrics lived across different regional and product level systems, which made it difficult to build a complete commercial performance view. Teams had to navigate multiple sources to assemble even basic reports. - Inconsistent Cross Regional Comparisons
Because each region tracked information differently, teams could not compare performance across markets, time periods, or currencies in a structured or repeatable way. This reduced the clarity needed for portfolio wide decisions. - Manual Reporting Dependency
Leadership reviews relied on offline preparation, multiple extracts, and locally assembled reports. This manual effort slowed down planning conversations and limited the organization’s ability to respond quickly to emerging trends.
Our Solution
Designing a Connected Global Finance and Commercial Insights Dashboard
We designed and implemented an analytics driven dashboard that provided a connected view of key commercial and financial metrics into a single, integrated interface.
Integrated Data Foundation
Multiple data sources were connected to bring together sales, new patient starts, units sold, and forecast information. This created an integrated analytics layer that served as the central source for reporting and analysis.
Cross Regional and Global Performance Views
The dashboard enabled side by side comparison of performance across markets, product portfolios, and time periods. Users could drill down from global to regional to product level, making it easier to understand variations in performance.
Multi-Currency Normalization
Financial metrics were standardized across currencies to support clear comparison and aggregation. Local currency views were still available, ensuring both global and regional accuracy.
Forecast vs Actual Visibility
The dashboard offered direct visibility into how actuals compared against forecasts. Variances, gaps, and performance trends became much easier to interpret, allowing users to understand what was driving over or under performance.
Role Based Dashboards
Tailored views were built for global leadership, regional commercial teams, and finance stakeholders. Each audience could access the level of detail and perspective they needed without navigating unnecessary complexity.

The Outcomes
The dashboard elevated how performance conversations happen across the organization:
Shared Cross Regional Metrics
Global and regional teams now reference the same trusted commercial and financial metrics for sales, new patient starts, units sold, and forecasts. This consistency strengthened discussions across markets.
Structured Product and Market Comparison
Teams can compare performance across products, markets, and time horizons in a consistent and structured way, reducing reliance on offline, manually assembled reports and supporting faster planning cycles.
Faster Access to Trends and Variances
Leadership gains quicker visibility into emerging trends, forecast gaps, and performance variances. This enables more timely decision making and course correction when required.
Aligned Global and Regional Execution
Cross regional discussions are anchored in shared insights, improving the alignment between global priorities and regional execution plans. Teams now operate with a clearer understanding of portfolio level performance.
